The Recursive Challenge of Describing Glimpse

An internal assessment – a glimpse inside your own self – is an emergent property of your entire organism and all its relevant data streams. You can't measure it by tracking one variable (engorgement), because the system's behavior emerges from interactions across multiple data streams over time. Arousal is a glimpse. But to try and capture "glimpse" – describing it in terms of measurable properties and mechanisms – is to risk turning it into a technical framework, exactly the kind of pinning-down that collapses what I'm trying to protect.
