Visual's Heavy Hand Can Smush the Auditory Shimmer

When visual processing dominates, here's a consequence: non-visual tasks get routed through the visual cortex. Auditory shimmer-space (temporal depth, acoustic folding, vibration sensing) gets flattened into visual metaphors. "I see what you mean." We map knowledge spatially, because vision needs fixed reference frames. But shimmer lives in temporal depth, peripheral awareness, the acoustic space where boundaries fold. It doesn't want to be mapped! Visual processing grabs for snapshots, demands egocentricity, requires forward directionality. It is less likely to tolerate the distributed shimmer-space, the acoustic resonance, where ideas hover delicately before consciousness recognizes them.
