Overusing Your Dominant 'Hand' (Having Choice)

Whatever processing style is dominant for you, you probably habitually recruit it even when it's not the right tool for the job. Like twisting around to use your dominant hand when it would actually be easier – or more fun – to use your non-dominant hand for that specific task. Or maybe it would be beneficial to switch the hand you use back and forth depending on the mini-task, your tiredness, what feels good in the moment.

There's nothing wrong with having a default processing approach. Defaults are efficient. But when your default becomes your only option, you've lost choice. And you might be making tasks harder than they need to be.
