Non-Visual Tasks Engage Visual Processors

When you look at black squiggles on a page and read 'hello,' that's a visual task. (And some other things, too.) When you close your eyes and pull that 'hello' into your imagination, recreating the squiggles, that might be called a non-visual task, because you don't actually need your eyeballs to do it. But you do need your visual processor. So it is non-eyeball/non-visual, but still visual-ish. The thing is, if you are a visually dominant person, you also 'borrow' your visual processor for 'really' non-visual tasks, such as abstract thought. And when you do, you bring the visual rules and biases along with it.
