Visual Processing Biases: Snapshots
Visual stimuli are snapshots captured at an instant. This moment's barrage of light. The next moment's barrage of light. Then the next moment's. The brain can take these snapshots and create a temporal integration, but the data are fixed. Compare that to, say, a fragrance with its old layers and new layers, or a sound with its echoes. A 'snapshot' of that kind of data carries history.
