Consciousness/Awareness: Know That You Know It?
(Colloquial Consciousness Definition) Awareness is a huge distributed assessment process across the neural, endocrine, immune and cardiovascular systems. Awareness can inhabit the range from opaque to translucent to full consciousness. For example, you can be precisely aware of details of your breathing if you choose to be, whereas you can barely glimpse bone density, almost like a little bubble of fleeting awareness coming up from the opaque. It is when you are aware that you are aware – knowing that you know your breath – that you are in consciousness's realm.
