Influencing Habits of Mood
Note: Feldenkrais is all about proprioception, so when I go into 'mood'—which involves the cardio, immune, and endocrine systems, I am straying. (But I bet Moshé would have strayed there too, had he had the science…)
Shifts in your mood can be as important to noticing as shifts in your fascia or musculature. One of my favorite lessons is all about finding, noticing, celebrating shifts in mood as one makes the transition from foveal to peripheral gaze. (I have one of those lessons or you could go to Raz Ori—he has a whole series.) Francois Combeau has an amazing lesson where the change in your ankle affects the tilt of your head—and wow can that change your mood! (I used to say that ankles are the fountain of youth—and they are—but maybe not surprisingly they are also the fountain of happiness.)
