One Way to Keep the Peripheral Mood—Contagion
The peripheral attitude and parasympathetic moodscape are contagious. When someone goes foveal—for instance the care partner on a tough day—everyone goes foveal. And vice versa. Really, honestly, the shift to peripheral mood is easy and almost instantaneous (though it does require a little pause). Coming to recognize that shift—the real leverage—is very easy to learn. Could this be a little mini Awareness Through Movement exercise that a care partner could do for themselves or with their partner? Not deep zen meditation, but just a little happy contagious break?
