Why Tetlock Here in This Somatic Berry-Picking Site?
Here's a wild departure from somatic issues, but I have a reason for it. Understanding prediction error is important to somatic understanding if you like an intellectual approach. (Or you could just let your hands tell you.) But the neuroscience around prediction is heavy going. I found it easier to absorb because of a guy named Tetlock, who was looking at macro prediction in public policy, not the weird granular stuff neurologists study. (I used to be a public policy mediator.) I'll tell you, having Tetlock under my belt helped me get the neuroscience stuff better. So if you want a leg up to prediction error, try these entries around public policy predictions and see if it helps. Along the way you'll learn something about humility, the mental version of lifting a heavy box and the power of curiosity.
