Feel Before Influence

Instead of dividing organismic actions as 'voluntary' and 'involuntary' processes, the first question should be whether a person can feel something; can they be aware of it. Is there a receptor of some type — nerves, chemoreceptors, mechanoreceptors — for temperature or pressure or endocrine load or bone density or vibration or time lapse or any of dozens of other sensations? How does this signal get reconciled with all the other sensorial streams, and where does it get registered — the gut, the fascia, the moodscape? And how accessible is that sensation? Is it like an untrained person with calloused fingers trying to read braille? Or a concert pianist absorbing the subtle vibrations of the instruments around them? At what level is the person paying attention? Those are all pieces of the feeling part. The awareness, a prerequisite to influencing that which you are noticing.
