Self-Image in Feldenkrais (Definition)

Moshé Feldenkrais meant something precise and unusual by 'self-image.' It is neither your psychological self-concept nor a purely physical inventory of your body. It is the whole organism's current sense of itself — what it knows about its own parts, capacities, and organization. It includes how you imagine you move, what you believe you can and cannot do, and how the parts relate to each other in your own experience. Your self-image contains your repertoire and your habits.
