The Codex and the Dance

Maybe there is a Codex, maybe there isn't. I can't reject the idea that, in a Feldenkrais lesson, there is some deep information being accessed somehow. But I do reject the idea that that is all that happens. What is the use of information without context? The codex idea feels too linear, too idealized — a static library waiting to be consulted. It doesn't describe what I actually observe. Even if there is an operating manual and even if I can figure out how to read it, I'll need context. So it isn't so much that we are 'listening' to the deep-down-from-below wisdom, but that we are dancing with it and it is dancing with us, and 'it' changes from nanosecond to nanosecond. As do we.
