Entries and Edges

Here's how it works. Currently, there are ~300 'entries' – mostly text, but some videos, pictures, scraps of poems, paintings. The goal is to have ~3,000 entries some day – that's about a book. Each entry is written as a stand-alone. And each entry is rated for its connection to any of the other entries. That means that when we reach our 3,000-entry goal, there will be 9 million ratings that potentially connect those entries.

When you come to the system and read something about apples, we will have guessed there is a strong link between what you read about the apple's sweetness and our paragraph about orange's sweetness, but also that there's a strong connection with our entry about how sweetness is measured. So we offer both options and have you choose which path you want to follow. Or maybe you don't care about either of our offers, so you can ask us to offer two different possibilities, and maybe there you'll see a recipe for apple tart that piques your interest. This is why it's called berry-picking. You meander along and follow your interest.

Or, of course, you can ‘take a wild leap,’ use our Map (a fancy Table of Contents) or the search function. Just so long as you enjoy the meander, we are happy.
